Welfare Transition Program

Move from Welfare to Work

Florida’s Welfare Transition Program (WTP) enables recipients of Temporary Cash Assistance  to move from welfare to work by emphasizing self-sufficiency and personal responsibility.

Recipients of Temporary Cash Assistance are required to complete 35 hours each week of a work activity such as community service, work
experience, job search/job readiness, and/or vocational training. Recipients must also complete monthly appointments with a Career Counselor to discuss and evaluate progress towards goals.

Services such as childcare, tuition assistance, and transportation assistance are based on both availability and eligibility. If you have any questions regarding the Welfare Transition Program or need assistance completing the Work Registration process, please contact us via phone at 727-524-4344 or visit one of our full-service centers located below.
